Italian PA 6 producer makes investment into US carpet recycling plant / Facility to help the industry go circular

Aquafil (Arco / Italy; www.aquafil.com) has opened its first US carpet recycling plant. The facility in Phoenix, Arizona, will recycle PA 6 waste from carpets back into raw material using its "Econyl" regeneration system. In the US, 1.8 bn t/y of carpets are discarded in landfills. Once operational in 2018, the "ACR #01" plant will be able to collect 16m t/y of carpet.
