The good impressions gained from the semi-annual "KI Dialog" survey, done by PIE's sister publication KI (www.kiweb.de), are confirmed by the latest figures from the German Federal Statistical Office on specialist segments directly dealing with plastics processing. According to the figures, sales of plastic products made in Germany within HI 2017 have increased by 4.11 % to EUR 26.6 bn against the same period in 2016. Domestic sales have risen by 2.8% to EUR 15.6 bn, which is a relatively weak growth. The main sales drivers were exports, amounting to EUR 11 bn and gaining 6.1 %. The export quota of the plastics processing industry rose to 41 %.
