Steel mill spreads in China, US hit records in May

Steel to raw materials spreads in Chinaand the US continued to rise in May, afterincreases over the past three months. Newrecord highs were seen, as spreads surpasseda peak last year in indicative margins. Withnew records set monthly, and driven by steelprices rather than any big changes in steelraw materials costs, indicative margins maybe approaching their limit.
