The Golden Leaf India Awards: Southern Tea Competition (TGLI A) conceived by UPASI in collaboration with Tea Board of India is an annual feature eagerly looked forward by the tea fraternity in South India. TGLIA which started its journey in 2005 showcasing the quality profile of South Indian tea has successfully completed fifteen years. TGLIA highlights various tea growing regions in South India and the teas from these region present a unique expression of the agro-climatic diversity. Over the last 15 years the competition has strategically developed the South Indian Tea brand highlighting its regional attributes. The competition has helped immensely to showcase the quality teas of various regions of South India all over the world. TGLIA the first-ever tea tasting quality competition held anywhere in the world is appreciated for its metrics - content and methodology, in particular.
