Evaluation of fungicides and spray volumes on the control of dollar spot in a creeping bentgrass fairway, 2018

The study was conducted at the North Carolina State University Turfgrass Field Lab in Raleigh, NC on 'Crenshaw' creeping bentgrass maintained as a golf course fairway. Plots were mowed 3 times per week at 0.5 in. with clippings returned. Individual plots were 3 ft x 6 ft and arranged in a randomized complete block design with 4 replications. Treatments were applied in water equivalent to 0.5, 1, or 2 gal per 1000 ft2 with a C02-powered sprayer equipped with a single TeeJet AI9502E, AI9504E, or AI9508E nozzle, respectively, at 50 psi. Treatments were initiated on 27 Apr and applied at 14-day intervals. Percent turf area exhibiting dollar spot symptoms was assessed on 30 Apr, 8, 21 May, 5 and 18 Jun. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and means separation Fisher's Protected LSD test (P=0.05).
