Biomass-based performance additives to improve the properties of architectural paints and construction materials

Renmatix,a specialist in making materials from biomass,have formed a partnership with Nouryon to make biobased additives for paints and construction materials. Renmatix’s proprietary Plantrose~R Process utilizes’supercritical’water under high temperature and pressure to convert biomass into cellulosic sugars and bio-fractions,which are valuable green chemistry building blocks. The two partners will explore applications for a crystalline cellulose isolated by this process.
