CLAIMS MADE for the long-term adhesion, u-v, and salt-resistant properties of Plascoat Ltd's PPA571 thermoplastic construction coating have been upheld in the toughest of 10-year tests in Spain Tenth-anniversary checks on the supports and tubular structure of the Pasarela Pealonal de Anorga, a 25-m local authority footbridge over a railway line near the northern coastal town of San Sebastian, have shown the coating to be "still perfect".That assessment by the managing director of specialist coater Herkide SA, Juan-Marie Lacoste, is in stark contrast to the previous performance of a polyamide coating on the same bridge. Within months it had begun peeling from the tubular sections. The thermoplastic coating - now providing a smooth/glossy protective finish to structures and pipelines around the world - has also stood up well to vandalism.
