To evaluate the efficacy of botryticide use recommendations against B. cinerea populations in the vineyard, a monitoring committee was formed in Gironde, France, which consisted of Syngenta Agro, Biorizon, Draf-Srpv Aquitaine, Itv Blanquefort and Chambre d'Agriculture de Gironde. Monitoring was carried out from 1999 to 2003 in 443 plots. Resistance to dicarboximides, in spite of a frequency of detection of 70%, decreased with the reduction in the use of these products. For anilinopyrimidine-resistant spores, detected first in 2001, their spread was stabilized, based on an average resistant spore detection of 1.4%. For phenylpyrolles, hydroxyanilides and pyridinamines, the average resistant spore detection was lower than 0.5%. These results confirm the validity of the annual alteration of botryticide mode of action for protection against B. cinerea.
