FIELD EVALUATION OF TOMATINE AGAINST SUBTERRANEAN PESTS OF GROUNDNUT (TERMITES, NEMATODES AND WILT) UNDER FIELDCONDITIONS

Field trial was conducted to test the effect of Tomatine on subterranean pests of groundnut viz., Termites (Odontotermes wallonensis), nematodes (Meloidogyne arenaria) and fungus (Fusarium oxysporum). Among the various concentrations, Tomatine at 1 g/litre recorded termite the lowest infestation of 4.90 percent which was on par with chlorphyriphos 2 ml/lit (4.90%) at 14 Days After II Drenching. Chlorpyriphos 2 ml/lit recorded lowest pod scarification (6.50%) and the next best treatment was Tomatine 1g/Iit (10.50%). Nematode infestation was lowest (1.76%) in Tomatine 1.0 g/lit treatment followed by Tomatine 0.75 g/lit (2.20%). Wilt Disease infestation was significantly reduced (2.99%) in Tomatine 1.0 g/lit on 14 Days after Second Drenching comparedto Tomatine 0.75 g/lit (4.99%).
