ConocoPhillips keeps up legal pressure on PdV

PdV's US refining subsidiary Citgo can be deposed in ConocoPhillips' legal case against the Venezuelan firm, a federal judge in Houston has ruled. The US independent claims that state-owned PdV and its subsidiaries have been illegally transferring the ownership of oil held in storage and on board tankers to block collection of a $2bn compensation payment. The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) made the award in April in recompense for the nationalisation of ConocoPhillips' stakes in two Venezuelan extra-heavy crude upgraders in 2007. The US court case against PdV was brought on 25 June.
