US president Donald Trump's push to assert the country's "energy dominance" is seeing him tout its potential as an LNG export powerhouse. Trump has recently taken to peddling LNG exports during meetings with other world leaders. He signed an economic co-operation plan with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, last month that encourages Chinese firms to agree long-term contracts with US LNG exporters. Trump said in a meeting with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on 26 June that the US is looking forward to shipping to India, but "trying to get the price up a little bit". And South Korea's SK and state-run Kogas recently unveiled plans for US natural gas ventures, ahead of President Moon Jae-in's scheduled visit to Washington.
