2017 PA Timber Product Output SurveySummary

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), Bureau of Forestry (BOF), with several partners, periodically conducts a Timber Product Output (TPO) survey of Pennsylvania's primary wood processing facilities. TPO surveys provide volumes, species, uses, products and origins of the wood harvested and processed in PA, as well as information about the facilities operating in PA (e.g., employment, age, functions). Information gathered from the surveys benefits landowners, wood-processing businesses, and other interested parties, helping them plan and adapt to current market conditions. In addition, data from the survey contributes to conducting long-term trend analysis and assessments of regional dynamics.
