Giddings Boatworks in Charleston, Oregon, launched what Ray Cox, the yard's owner, described as "the largest boat being built anywhere on the coast at this time." The F/V Evie Grace, a 78-foot steel-hulled trawler, is the third major newbuild at Giddings in recent years, following the F/V Miss Emily in 2015 and the F/V Patriot in 2013.The Evie Grace was set for sea trials in mid-August, and will harvest groundfish out of Kodiak, Alaska.
