AIIB offers US$ 75 million loan for fiber deployment in Cambodia

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has provided a loan of US$ 75 million to Cambodia Fiber Optic Communication Network (CFOCN). The funds will be used for the deployment of 2,000 km of metro and regional fiber optic backbone networks to expand coverage in major cities, suburbs and rural areas, The Phnom Penh Post reports. The fiber optic cable deployment will cover five provinces, namely Kampot, Prey Veng, Tbong Khmum, Kampong Thom and Pursat.
