Comprehensive Revision of Gross Domestic Product by State: Advance Statistics for 2013 and Revised Statistics for 1997-2012

REAL U.S. gross domestic product (GDP) by state - a measure of nationwide growth calculated as the sum of GDP of all states deflated by a national price measure-slowed to 1.8 percent in 2013 after increasing 2.5 percent in 2012. Real GDP increased in 49 states and in all eight BEA regions in 2013, according to statistics released by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The Rocky Mountain region was the fastest growing region, increasing 4.1 percent. North Dakota (9.7 percent) was the fasting growing state (chart 1 and table 1).
