ONE consequence of US steel tariffs imposed on Chinese imports, escalating to the much-discussed tit-for-tat sanctions on Chinese and American products, has been a steep double-digit percentage rise in prices of US steel, while prices of imported steel have actually dropped, according to the new American Steel Index Report prepared by Business Forward Inc, a US-based research company.
