Four-channel sound system using a single woofer

A traditional stereo hifi sound system uses two full-range amplifiers,driving a pair of speakers,each of which contains at least two(and possibly three or more)drivers.The separate drivers are used to reproduce different parts of the frequency spectrum.For example,a two-way speaker system incorporates a tweeter to reproduce high frequencies and a woofer to reproduce low frequencies.
