Farmers in England stand to save millions of pounds as a result of changes to livestock movement rules and on-farm inspections, UK environment secretary Owen Paterson announced last week.Speaking at the Oxford Farming Conference, the minister said streamlined procedures on livestock movements would save farmers and taxpayers some 70 million (EUR 85m) over the next ten years."Cuts to burdensome red tape will make it easier for farming businesses to flourish and improve our ability to prevent and control the spread of diseases such as bovine TB," he noted.
