Proposals with ISRI participation are two of the 12 the REMADE Institute (West Henrietta, N.Y.) chose to fund in May. One project explores the potential of solvent-based extraction for separating and recovering plastics and metals from electronic scrap. The project, if successful, has the potential to grow the recycling rate of electronic scrap by as much as 20%, the proposal states. The partners on that projects are the University of Massachusetts-Lowell and ISRI member Sunnking (Brockport, N.Y.), along with ISRI.
