摘要

The possibility to use organic complexes of metal acetylacetonates as pro-oxidant additives for high density polyethylene and polypropylene UV irradiated films was studied. It was found that the initial polyethylene is more resistant to oxidation. It retained its elongation even after 60 h UV irradiation. Polypropylene is less resistant to oxidation due to the presence of tertiary carbon atoms in the macromolecule. The films made from it with or without pro-oxidant showed much lower elongation after 1 h irradiation but retained their strength in the range 35-50 MPa. It was found from the results obtained for the carbonyl index calculated for the films from high density polyethylene that higher degree of photooxidation can be achieved using 2 mmol kg~(-1) polymer manganese(II) and cobalt(III) acetylacetonates while for polypropylene samples stronger effect on the acceleration of the photooxidative destruction processes exerted the pro-oxidants vanadyl(II) and iron(III) acetylacetonates.
