Afreximbank invests US$400mn in Mozambique LNG

THE AFRICAN EXPORT-IMPORT Bank (Afreximbank) has committed up to US$400mn in guarantees and direct lending to Mozambique's US$24bn Area 1 LNG Project. The financing will be used to partially fund the project development activities required to extract natural gas offshore, its transfer to onshore processing facilities and then its conversion to LNG for export to various markets around the world.
