Challenges in the Lakshmi Field: Tarkeshwar and Babaguru Formations are the main reservoirs in Lakshmi field with proven gas and oil accumulations. Tarkeshwar Formation is gas bearing in the upper part (T3 to T8) whereas oil bearing in the lower part (T0 to T3) overlain by gas bearing Babaguru Formation. The sequence stratigraphic framework of the Lower Tarkeshwar Formation containing the oil pays considers a concept of tide dominated estuarine environments with highly complex incised valley fills.
