The beginning of the Permian's second century presents both opportunities and challenges.The opportunity is obvious.At its core,the Permian holds vast quantities of crude oil,most of which is found in the Wolfcamp formation stretching across both the Midland and Delaware sub-basins.Industry's ability to tap into shale economically fundamentally transformed the balance of crude supplies globally.Single well economics are competitive and are likely to improve further if history is an indicator.Recent concerns over weaker than expected well performance likely overshadow the fact that the basin has years of attractive drilling inventory remaining.
