With the growing number oil and gas projects, specially offshore platforms and - GSG, there is a huge demand to meet the requirements of an explosion proof safety solution for large motors and machines under the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) or Australian Standards (AS) Equipment Protection Level (EPL) Gb and Gc (zones 1 and 2) standards. Ex-p or "purging and pressurising" is an increasingly popular method for large, megawatt size motors.
