Drillhead delivers disappointing results for summer drilling campaigns

Drilling offshore over the summer, including some big ticket wells, has so far failed to return a discovery, with only the Apache Energy-led Zola-1 well (30.25%) now in with a chance. The Zola-1 well has been drilled to a depth of 4,008 metres, however the rig has been secured and evacuated twice due to weather events. The target is within WA-290-P, immediately south of the giant Gorgon gas field in the Carnarvon Basin, off the coast of Western Australia, and is targeting the primary Triassic Mungaroo Formation target at 4,300m.
