US merger extends Rocky reach

Emerald Oil & Gas is merging its North American asset base in the Rocky Mountains region with NYSE AMEX-listed American oiler Voyager Oil and Gas. Emerald will own a 19.9% stake in a new company to be called Emerald Oil Inc (EOI). EOI will have a market capitalisation of some US$123 million, with the expectation that figure will grow quickly off the back of drilling and an improved market understanding of the combined entity.
