ANRPC anticipates a setback to new planting of rubber in many countries in 2018.While the total area under replanting also may shrink in some countries in 2018,some other countries may see expansion of replanting are.In Malaysia,the area under new planting is projected to come down from 7,500 ha.in 2017 to 5,600 ha.in 2018,while area under replanting may go up from 20,300 ha.to 40,000 ha.In China,the new planting area is expected to come down from 5,200 ha.in 2017 to 4,000 ha.in 2018 and replanting area from 14,000 ha.to 13,000 ha.in 2018.
