The stalled Mountain Valley Pipeline continues to face a series of small scale direct actions by opponents who are stopping work at construction sites by chaining themselves to sections of pipe or equipment.
The latest occurred at a site in Franklin County, Virginia, late last week where two protesters chained themselves to construction equipment, shutting down the site for six hours. It was the latest in an ongoing series of small actions by MVP opponents who block access to construction sites for several hours or the more direct action by protesters chaining themselves to equipment. "The end result is that everything is shut down and there is no work that shift," a spokesman for a green group not connected with the MVP protests told Energy Intelligence Monday.
