Despite a somewhat smaller group than usual, the members of the Industrie-Gemeinschaft Aerosole e. V. (IGA) met on May 8, 2013 in Bad Homburg for the spring forum. The holiday the next day was clearly the reason why not all members participated in the forum. As usual, the program was strictly organized and it offered those present a wealth of trade information. The Chair of the IGA Executive Board, Volker Krampe of Beiersdorf AG, opened the spring forum with a brief sketch of the program and by greeting Birgit Veverka, who took up her work in the office at the end of last year after the departure of Dr. Gerda Wittel. According to Krampe, it is especially pleasing that the IGA has been able to gain such a lot of ground in Europe. Now as before, Dr. Rolf Bayersdorfer (Hans Schwarzkopf & Henkel GmbH) is President of the European Aerosol Association (FEA); he himself is Chair of the FEA's "Industrial Safety & Security Committee," and Matthias Ibel, CEO of the IGA, has now succeeded Sue Rogers of BAMA as Chair of the "National Associations Directors Committee." Thus, the IGA is heavily represented in the FEA, which is also reflected in the positive results for the industry, according to Krampe. For example, the color red is extremely prominent in the annual report, for precisely due to the conversion of the labeling systems to the new globally-harmonized system (GHS), this color will play a big role in product labeling and there was a desire to express this. In addition, people also succeeded in making several changes that would have come gradually to industry at the same time, which saves a lot of work and reduces costs.
