Machine tool builders demand cost reductions in many material laser processing applications like additive manufacturing, thin film ablation, surface structuring, cleaning, and foil cutting. All markets lead laser and optoelectronic component suppliers in the same way to improve the throughput as well as yield of available laser power. A feasible way of achieving cost reductions is to use existing machine components and upgrade the laser power as well as deploying advanced scanning technology in order to get five to ten times better throughput. Therefore, they improve cost per part or cost per hour massively.
