Lumber, OSB prices rise on hurricanes and fires, prices up 15-25% yr/yr

US softwood lumber and wood panel prices continued a year-long tear into early September, up collectively by S55/MBF (16%) for lumber and $100/ MSF (26%) for panels, compared to the same month a year ago. For the latest week ended Sept. 8, upward momentum increased, boosted by hurricanes in the South and forest fires in the Northwest.
