Effects of Reduced Ship Speed on Listening Space Studied

A new study concludes that reducing ship speed by 10 knots could provide relief for marine mammals and fish impacted by noise from vessels transiting through critical areas. The effect varied by ship type and speed, species, and ambient sound conditions.
