This study is a valuable addition to our armamentarium when we are forced to "jump through hoops" in order to obtain testing for anti-myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibodies. A high positive yield is demonstrated if testing is appropriately targeted. This tertiary neurology hospital in Liverpool, UK looked at 132 patients who met the neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) 2015 criteria. 73% of these patients were Aquaporin 4-IgG (AQP4-IgG) positive and 27% were AQP4-IgG negative.
