Utilities in Virginia and North Carolina are shifting their focus toward renewables now that the failed Atlantic Coast Pipeline (ACP) will not be delivering cheap abundant natural gas from the Appalachian region to the Mid-Atlantic East Coast. But that doesn't mean gas won't continue playing a significant role in the Southeast power mix for decades to come, it just won't be the role that might have been.
