As the Texas and Louisiana energy complex continued to recover from Hurricane Harvey, an even stronger storm threatened to knock out significant gas and power facilities - as well as demand - from Florida all the way to the Mid-Atlantic. By late Friday, Hurricane Irma was approaching the Sunshine State with top winds of 175 mph, making it one of the strongest Atlantic storms in decades. The National Hurricane Center said Irma was almost the size of Texas, meaning it was expected to pummel not only Florida but also Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina by Tuesday.
