Trading activity and demand for small-tonnage vessels have decreased notably inthe Azov-Black Sea basin in mid-January. High availability of fleet allows charterers togradually reduce freight and time-charter quotations, so prices have dropped by $100/day in a week. Some shipowners have already started relocating fleet to theMediterranean Sea, where time-charter rates stay stable and major market participantsexpect shipments of steel products and construction materials to grow next month.
