Research on Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction Instrument Based on Magnetic Nanoparticles Separation

摘要

Efficiently and quickly extracting the nucleic acid in high quality from biological samples is very important in biomedical research. During the last few years, magnetic nanoparticles in the field of nucleic acid extraction have aroused researcher's wide concern due to their significant advantages, such as no centrifugation, easy automation and high-throughput. This paper described a novel miniature fully automated nucleic acids extraction instrument (ANAEI) based on magnetic separation with following four aspects: core method, function modules, mechanical structure and control system. This instrument applied the embedded real-time operating system mu COS-II and can not only simultaneously extract nucleic acids from 1 to 16 biological samples, but also meet the requirement for field-portable rapid sample processing with lightweight design. Finally, the genomic DNA extraction experiments from whole blood were conducted to validate the overall performance of the instrument, and the results show a promising prospect with high degree of automation, stability, excellent result and simple operation.
