The concept of virtual articulated arm coordinate measuring machine (VAACMM), allows for a near-real time determination of single measurement results along with its uncertainty, which eliminates the need for multiple repetitions of measurements and significantly reduces the costs associated with measurement procedure. In this paper the VAACMMs were developed for chosen articulated arm coordinate measuring machine using three different metrological models. The methodology of their implementation, comparison of results obtained with their use and discussion on advantages of each metrological model is presented in the paper. Also a robust verification method is proposed, which may be used for assuring the correct functioning of developed virtual models for manipulators and robots that are utilized for quality control based on coordinate measurements.
