The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of the Federal Republic of Somalia announced that the frst ofshore licensing round will launch in August 2020 heralding the opening of frontier acreage for oil and gas exploration in East Africa. Somalia ofers one of the last few frontier areas globally that are unexplored and undrilled and are buoyed by favourably fscal terms that increase investor attractiveness.
