FAME production in October 2019 totalled 144 mln gallons, around 480,000 tonnes, the most-recent data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) show. Output was down 16% on the year, following a 13% decrease to 142 mln gallons in September. Production in October came from an annual capacity of 2,505 mln gallons, down on the month (2,537 mln). Jan/Oct output was 1,464 mln gallons, down 4% on the year, but significantly above earlier years. Supportive are the anti-subsidy and anti-dumping duties imposed on imports from Argentina and Indonesia. Producers' sales in October totalled 141 mln gallons, down 17% y/y, following 142 mln in September (-11%). The Jan/Oct total fell to 1,438 mln gallons from 1,530 mln.
