2018 ETHANOL EXPORTS TOTALLED AROUND 6.5 BLN LITRES

Ethanol exports in December 2018 totalled around 532.4 mln litres, a three-month low, trade data show, down 20% on the year and following a 43% increase to 564.9 mln in November. The December total included 141.1 mln litres shipped to Brazil, after 194.0 mln in November and 187.2 mln last year. Canada took 107.8 mln litres, slightly below the 2018 average. Around 36.5 mln litres went to India, against 106.3 mln in November and 71.1 mln last year. The destinations in the Arab Gulf took around 71.9 mln litres, after 6.4 mln in October. Exports to China remained marginal.
