Anglo American plans new technology center; El Soldado Mine will be converted into center to test new products

DEMAND FOR COPPER is expected to rise through the coming years, and Anglo American is betting it can get closer to meeting that demand through improved technology. Anglo American chief executive officer of copper, Hennie Faul told Reuters that the company is reworking its El Soldado copper mine in Chile to use it as an experimental technology center where the company will conduct full-scale testing of new products and ideas in real time.
