French Property Tremolite Locality South of Russell, St. Lawrence County, New York

In July 2015, Donnie Carlin discovered an area of tremolite mineralization as a result of a search for mineral localities south of the village of Russell in the Town of Russell, St. Lawrence County, NY. He visited the locality frequently over a three-month period, discovering numerous individual exposures. The mineralized region (shown in yellow in fig. 1) is on the Wayne French property. It covers the top of a low mound just west of County Rt. 24, about 2.7 km south of the four-corners in Russell and about 1.8 km north of the intersection of Rt. 24 and Dana Hill Road. Collectible minerals are abundant, but the permission of the property owner must be obtained.
