A Trophy Native Copper Recovered in the Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan

Last summer, a very unusual native copper specimen was brought to my attention by Doug Miller of Calumet, Michigan. The chunk of gnarly fissure vein copper was discovered in September 2000 on a 40-acre tract of land near the North Cliff mine, Keweenaw County that was owned by Miller at that time. He had built a small but comfortable stone house on the property and lived there with his family for a number ofyears.
