LANSING, Mich.-The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) board last December recommended more than $40.3 million in grants-to be funded by interest income earned on the Trust Fund's principal, which was derived from revenues generated by crude oil and natural gas activities on state of Michigan-owned mineral rights, including lease bonuses and production royalties, from 1976 until 2011.
