MDOT weight restrictions now off from southern Michigan border north to and including M-46; 28 counties now 'frost law' free

PLEASANT, Mich.-The Michigan oilfield moved closer to the end of the 2018 weight restriction season this week, with seasonal "frost law" restrictions no longer being enforced in at least 28 Lower Peninsula counties as of April 2, while the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), effective on March 27, expanded the area in which it has lifted weight restrictions north to and including M-46. According to spring weight restriction tracking by the County Road Association of Michigan (CRAM), at least 13 counties have been added to the list of counties no longer enforcing restrictions since our most recent "frost law" report.
