摘要

A novel, quick, simple and cost-effective spectrophotometric procedure is investigated for microgram estimation of zirconium ions. The procedure is depends on the reaction of Zr(IV) with Mordant blue 2RL (MBR) as complexing agent. Under optimum reaction conditions, MBR reacts with Zr(IV) in 2.0 M HCl to form a pink complex which has an absorption maximum (lambda(max)) at 583 nm. In the concentration range 0.0-12.0 mu g.mL(-1), the colored complex was obeys Beer's law with molar absorptivity of 4.93 x 10(3) L.mol(-1).cm(-1)and Sandell's sensitivity of 0.0185 mu g.mL(-2). Zr(IV) was also determined using the third-derivative-spectrophotometry. The suggested procedure has been utilized for Zr(IV) estimation in a simulated frit 24-70 sample, wastewater and environmental water samples and satisfying results have been obtained. The suggested method is simple, rapid and does not require a skilled analyst.
