Graphical procedures are presented for estimation of the peak induced voltages on buried pipelines sharing a com-mon right-of-way with overhead electric power lines. The largest induced voltage levels occur at locations along the pipeline where the power line electric field changes value due to some form of electrical or physical discontinuity. An effective means of mitigation is grounding the pipeline at the locations of the induced voltage peaks. Guidelines are established for determining upper bounds on the mitigated grounding systems installed at these locations.
