The application of epoxy-coated tubing used in water injection wells for -19 to 80 months in J oil field was investigated. Testing indicated that one-third of the tubing did not meet the users' technology requirement for continued use. The other tubing showed excellent corrosion resistance. The poor surface pretreatment of the tubing and poor high-temperature corrosion resistance of the epoxy coating were the main reasons for the failure of the epoxy-coated repaired tubing and the epoxy-coated tubing used in high working temperatures, respectively. Dissolved oxygen corrosion, carbon dioxide (CO2) corrosion, and under-scale corrosion occurred on the tubing substrate with coating damage.
