M2M CLOUD PLATFORM-ENABLED SMART AUTOMATION FOR INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS

The control system and its platform in the manufacturing and process industry are considered to be one of the high-priority areas. A typical manufacturing and process plant can include several types of equipment, ranging from motor drives to PLC and data acquisition systems. Therefore, to have control over such equipment is important. Current control systems tend to collect data from the control system busses (modbus, and so on), and pass that data directly to the server application (HMI, Historian, and so on). The control systems are generally configured to select, which name/value pairs to read off the control bus, and can send the data as soon as it arrives or collect the data locally and send all the data at a particular time. These systems are called "always connected, data pass through" systems.
